I am so glad that you like the photos...they mean
so much to me! I e-mailed them to Lucy (Barron) when I finally located her
a couple of years ago and she also liked them. Sharing these photos is
very special when there are people who are researching and sharing their
knowlege with others and maybe know some of these relatives. Lucy shared
her research with me and really got me interested in finding out more about
my Braswell ancestors; along with some 1st cousins I did not know on my
Estes side.
My name is Betty Estes...I was born in Liberty, Dekalb
County Tenn in 1939. Tn. My McGee Family lived in Cannon County and
Estes Family in Dekalb County of TN. The area in Cannon County was Pea
Ridge Road and McGee Hollow, Short Mountain. The Mt. Ararat Church of
Christ on Pea Ridge Road there was helped to be built by some of my
ancestors. In Dekalb County, my Estes ancestors lived in an area called Dry
Creek...which was right around a couple hills from Pea Ridge Rd in Cannon
County.
The photo I am sending this time was made in
McGee Hollow and some of the ladies in it are Braswell Ladies. The three on
the front row are sisters and their parents were William Braswell and
Clarissa Sellars, According to Lucy Barrons information. I looked them up
in the 1850 Census of Dekalb County and they were all listed there. The
photo copy was given to me by my cousin Joe Estes Davis, a Grandson of
Willie Beatrice Patterson. I will identify them for you. The photo was
taken about 1902.
