Illinois in 1810 was frontier country. Four middle-aged sons of RICHARD and OBEDIENCE BRASWELL were there--ROBERT, WILLIAM, RICHARD, and VALENTINE. Of these, only RICHARD (1759-c.1842) in Randolph County got counted. His family appears in the Clear Creek area (later Johnson County) as -
