BLACK SHEEP AND RASCALS. Every family has it's share of
villains and the mischievous.
ST. LUKE'S CHURCH. Historic St. Luke's Church,
affectionately known as "Old Brick", is the oldest existing church
of English foundation in America, dated as having been begun in 1632.
St. Luke's (formerly Lower Parish) Church is in Isle of Wight County.
President Eisenhower designated it a National Historic Monument during his
second administration. A plaque honoring Rev. Bracewell is affixed to the
rood screen. Rev. Robert Bracewell’s period of office was from 1649
to 1668.
BRACEWELL MANOR. The original family home in Bracewell,
England which is now in Lancashire.
The manor was the source of the family place name. The LeTempests were a
Norman family who were given the Bracewell fiefdom after the Norman
Conquest. Our family was dispossessed of their estate with nothing to show
for it but our surname. - Carey Bracewell
