[Bird William was born about 1754 in Edgecombe Co, NC and died about 1844 in Hancock, GA. He lived to be about 90 years old. It is interesting to note the name William Rachel and that Bird William's father, Solomon Braswell, married Rachel Bird on 25 Feb 1764]

[Byrd Brazil of Hancock, GA, on 7 January 1833, in his Rev. War pension application stated that he was "about 69 years old." That would make him born about 1764.]

Comment by Carey Bracewell on 22 May 1999: There are two different BIRDs. SOLOMON's [and Rachel Bird] child was WILLIAM BYRD BRASWELL [who was in the Rev. War]. The one definitely from Chatham County was BYRD WILLIAM BRASWELL (c1760-1855) [Valentine's brother].
